Materials & buying
What is rexine?
Rexine is the everyday Indian name for artificial leather. Most rexine sold today is PVC synthetic leather: PVC coated on a fabric backing and embossed with a leather-like grain.
What is the difference between PVC leather and PU leather?
PVC leather is tougher, more water-resistant and usually more economical. PU leather is softer and more breathable and is often used in fashion and footwear. The right choice depends on your use and budget.
Which HSN code applies to PVC coated fabric and rexine?
Textile fabrics coated with PVC generally fall under HSN heading 5903, for example 59031010 for PVC-coated imitation leather fabrics of cotton. Confirm the exact code and current GST rate with your tax advisor for each product.
How do I measure GSM of a rexine or coated fabric sample?
Cut a 10 cm × 10 cm square, weigh it in grams on a precise scale and multiply by 100. The result is grams per square metre (GSM).
PVC Synthetic Leather (Rexine)
Is rexine the same as PVC leather?
In the Indian market, yes in most cases. 'Rexine' started as a British brand name, but today traders use it for most artificial leather. When a buyer asks for rexine, they usually mean PVC synthetic leather: PVC coated on a fabric backing.
What width do your rexine rolls come in?
Our standard width is about 54 inches (around 137 cm). Widths up to about 58 inches can be discussed for bulk orders.
Can you match a shade or grain from my sample?
Yes. Send us a physical sample or a clear photo with the application. We develop a lab sample for your approval before bulk production.
Which rexine is best for car seat covers?
Use an automotive grade with good abrasion, heat and UV resistance, usually on a knitted backing that stretches over seat contours. Our AutoMajestive line is made for this use.
Do you supply small quantities?
Minimum order depends on the shade and finish. Stock shades can move in smaller lots than custom developments. Call or WhatsApp us with your quantity for a clear answer.
Technical PVC Coated Fabric
What is the difference between single side and double side coated fabric?
Single side fabric has PVC on one face and bare fabric on the other, so it is lighter and more flexible. Double side fabric is sealed with PVC on both faces, so it is fully waterproof and more durable outdoors.
What GSM should I choose for a truck cover or tarpaulin?
Heavy outdoor covers usually need a higher GSM double side fabric. Tell us the size, use and how long it must last, and we will recommend a weight.
Can you make flame retardant coated fabric?
Yes, flame retardant, UV stabilised, anti-fungal and cold-crack resistant options can be built into the coating. Share the standard or test you need to meet.
Do you make custom colours and widths?
Yes. Colour, width, GSM and finish can be customised for bulk orders after sample approval.
PVC Flexible Sheets & Films
What thickness of transparent PVC sheet do I need for a table cover?
Table covers are commonly made from thinner, flexible clear sheet. Heavier gauges are used where the sheet must lie flat and resist cuts. Tell us the use and we will suggest a thickness.
Is PVC sheet sold by weight or by metre?
Both are common in India. Many traders quote per kg, while some quote per metre or square foot. We can quote in the unit that suits your purchase.
Can PVC flexible sheet be used for waterproofing?
Yes. Our waterproofing and lining sheet is a heavier, weldable grade for roofs, terraces, tanks, ponds and canals.
Do you make coloured and printed PVC film?
Yes. Opaque films come in solid colours and can be matched to your brand shade on bulk orders.
PVC Flooring Rolls
What is the difference between residential and commercial PVC flooring?
Commercial flooring has a thicker wear layer and is built for heavy footfall and trolley traffic. Residential flooring focuses on comfort, design and value for lighter use.
Is PVC flooring waterproof?
The PVC surface is water-resistant, which makes it suitable for kitchens and wet-mop cleaning. Water standing at the edges or under the roll should still be avoided.
What decides the price of PVC flooring?
Mainly total thickness, wear layer thickness, design and print quality, backing and order quantity. Installation is usually priced separately.
Can PVC flooring be laid over tiles?
In most cases yes, if the existing floor is flat, clean and dry. Deep grout lines or cracks should be levelled first.
