Quality & Process
How a roll of PVC synthetic leather or coated fabric is made at our Gundlav unit, and how we check it.
Six steps from resin to roll
Compounding
PVC resin, plasticisers, stabilisers and pigments are weighed and mixed to the formulation for each product line.
Coating
The compound is coated onto the selected base fabric (knitted, woven or non-woven) in controlled layers.
Fusing
Heat fuses the coating into a strong, uniform layer bonded to the fabric.
Embossing & Finish
Grain patterns, prints and protective top coats are applied to create the final look and feel.
Inspection
Each roll is checked for shade, surface defects, thickness and weight against the approved sample.
Rolling & Packing
Rolls are wound, labelled with product and batch details, and packed for safe transport.
What we check
The roll you approve is the roll you receive.
Thickness & GSM
Measured across the width and length of the roll.
Shade match
Compared with the master shade under consistent light.
Surface quality
Checked for pin-holes, streaks, bubbles and emboss uniformity.
Coating bond
Adhesion between coating and fabric is checked so layers don't separate.
Width & length
Usable width and roll length confirmed before packing.
Application tests
Abrasion, cold-crack, flame retardancy and other tests are arranged as your application requires.
